Edit Skills

Assign skills to a volunteer to record what they're qualified to do. Skills are used to match volunteers to jobs that require specific skills (for example, during portal sign-up). A volunteer can have multiple skills.

Opening the volunteer's Skills page

To open the Skills page:
    On the Volunteers page, click the Volunteers tab.
    Click the volunteer's name to open their profile.
Click the Edit dropdown, then Skills.

Assigning skills

  • Assign an existing skill — pick a skill from the dropdown, then click Save (or Save and add another to keep adding). The dropdown lists only skills not already assigned to this volunteer.
  • Create a new skill — type a name and click Create and Assign to create the skill and add it to this volunteer in one step.
  • Assigned skills appear in a list; click Remove next to one to take it away (with confirmation).
The master list of skills is maintained under Administration → Volunteer Skills.
