Routes

Orchard Stack provides tools to manage delivery routes through:
  • Manual delivery order optimization
  • Automatic delivery order optimization

Delivery Zone

A Delivery zone is a collection of routes that share the same original distribution site. They can also be used to group routes for other reasons, such as:
  • Departure time
  • Geographic grouping

Route

A Route is the specific course and sequence of stops a delivery driver takes to deliver their clients' meals.

Route Ordering Options

Orchard Stack supports:
  • Manual route ordering (set your own order of deliveries)
  • Automated route optimizations

Types of Routes

For automated route optimization, we can have:
  • Loop routes end at the starting point or original distribution site.
  • Spur routes end at the last client. Spur routes work best for route optimization if the delivery drivers don't return to the distribution site after completing their deliveries.
