The meal calendar is where your planning comes together. It shows what meals are assigned to each day and product, based on your rotation cycle. This article covers how to work with the calendar after your initial setup is complete.
Monthly Calendar View
Navigate to Menus and click View full month below the calendar widget (or click a month name) to open the expanded monthly view.
The calendar grid displays rows for each week and columns for each day.
Today is highlighted with a blue background.
Overrides (days where the meal differs from the master calendar) are highlighted with a yellow background.
Each day shows an Edit button and a Report button.
Product rows are visible for each product that has meal calendaring enabled.
Day Detail
Click Report on any calendar day to open the day detail view. This shows:
Meals assigned per product
Client counts per product
Dietary overrides for clients being served
Per-dish ingredient breakdown with quantities scaled to client count
Print day detail reports ahead of time to help the kitchen prepare for upcoming days. The report supports PDF export for printing.
Editing the Master Calendar
The master calendar defines your rotation template (e.g., a 12-week cycle). Changes to the master calendar affect all future dates that follow the template.
Navigate to Menus > Settings > Edit master calendar.
The master calendar displays your rotation cycle (e.g., Week 1 through Week 4).
Click on a cell — the intersection of a day and product — to assign or change a meal.
Select the meal and click Save.
Repeat for each day and product in your cycle.
Overrides (Exceptions)
An override replaces the master calendar's meal for a specific date without changing the underlying rotation. This is useful for holidays or special occasions like Fish Fridays or Thanksgiving Day.
From the monthly calendar view, click Edit on the day you want to override.
Choose the replacement meal for each product, or cancel all meals for the day.
Click Save.
Overrides appear highlighted in yellow on the calendar.
To restore the default rotation meal, delete the override.
Cycle Resets
A cycle reset jumps the rotation to a specific week number on a given date. This is useful after holidays or breaks when the rotation needs to restart at a particular point.
Create a cycle reset from the day detail view.
Choose the target week number the rotation should jump to.
The reset can be cancelled before it takes effect.
Changing the Number of Weeks
To change the length of your rotation cycle:
Navigate to Menus > Settings > Calendaring settings.
Update the Weeks in schedule setting.
Click Save.
Reducing the number of weeks may delete meal assignments for weeks beyond the new count. The system will ask for confirmation before making the change.
