September 2026 Release Notes

This release brings improvements to nearly every part of Orchard Stack. Routes gain an interactive map and a client reassignment wizard. Client and volunteer records have a refreshed layout with more flexible contacts, pet information, tags, and enrollments. Label generation, dashboard alerts, service date schedules, and menu schedules all move forward as well.

World Map Route Atlas

Route Atlas is a new interactive map designed to make reviewing and balancing delivery routes easier.
Compare up to eight routes on a single map, each displayed with its own color, stop sequence, and route statistics. Click any stop to view client details or jump directly to the client or route record. Route Atlas also highlights manually ordered routes and clients with address issues that may need attention.
Route Atlas is available from the Routes page.

✂️ Split a Route and Reassign Clients

Rebalancing routes no longer means editing clients one at a time. A new Reassign clients option on any route walks you through moving clients between two routes in three steps.
  • Choose a destination — pick an existing route, or create a new one without leaving the wizard
  • Move clients — drag clients between the two routes side by side, with a map to help you picture the result
  • Review and confirm — nothing changes until you confirm on the final step
Only clients with current or upcoming deliveries are listed, and each client's default route assignment is updated once you confirm.

Label New Label Builder

Label Builder brings all label generation into one streamlined interface under Reports > Builders.
From a single location, you can create:
  • Client and volunteer address labels
  • Meal labels
  • Meal bag labels
Label Builder includes support for meal and meal bag label generation for multiple delivery days in a single batch or based on client status filtering instead of delivery day filtering.
The existing pages for generating Meal and Meal Bag Labels from the Deliveries page or Address Labels from the Reports or Invoicing page are still available and not going away. The new Label Builder adds to this functionality by providing a centralized option for label creation with support for additional customization options.

✨ A Refreshed Look for Client and Volunteer Records

The Client and Volunteer data entry pages have been redesigned with a cleaner, more modern layout that makes information easier to find and manage.

Card Index Flexible Contact Management

Clients and volunteers now support a more flexible contact management system.
Clients can have multiple contacts categorized as Emergency, Medical/Doctor, Household, or Other, while volunteers can now maintain multiple emergency contacts. Each contact includes phone numbers, email, notes, and optional mailing address information.

Dog Pet Information

A new Pet Information section makes it easy to record details about a client's pets, including pet type, size, quantity, pet food delivery, and notes.
Enable the section from Admin > Client Fields. A new Client Pets report is also available under Reports > Clients.

🔖 Client Tags and Enrollments

Two new ways to organize clients are now available on every client record.
Tags are simple labels for grouping clients however you like. Assign an existing tag from the Tags tab, or create a new one on the spot.
Enrollments track a client's participation in a program over time. Each enrollment has a type, a start date, and an optional end date, and is managed from the Enrollments tab.
The tag and enrollment type lists are maintained in Admin > Client Fields.
You can also:
  • Run the new Client Enrollments report under Reports > Clients , with options for current, recently expired, or all enrollments
  • Keep an eye on enrollments about to expire from the dashboard (see below)

🔍 New Filters on the Clients List

The Clients list now has a row of filter pills above the list, so you can narrow down any client tab without running a report.
Filter by:
  • Zones and Routes
  • Enrollments — clients currently enrolled in the selected program types
  • Tags
  • Created Date — clients added in the last X days
Pick as many values as you like within each filter. Filters combine with one another, stay applied as you page through the list, and a Clear filters link resets them all.

📋 Client Closure Reason Tracking

"Discontinuation reason" is now Closure reason, and it is tracked more consistently throughout the application.
  • Closure reason and Closure date are recorded automatically when a status change closes a client's account
  • On the Status Change page, the reason field is highlighted whenever you select a status change that closes an account, so the reason isn't missed
  • The Clients Closed report now includes a Closure Reason column
  • Reason options are managed under Admin > Delivery Stops & Changes > Status Change Reasons
Closure reason tracking is now enabled for all organizations. If you'd rather not use it, you can turn the fields off under Admin > Client Fields.

🔔 Refined Dashboard Alerts

The alerts panel on the dashboard has been reorganized and now shows a Today and a This week count side by side for each alert.
Alerts now cover:
  • Clients starting or resuming service
  • Clients stopping service
  • Expired or expiring service authorizations
  • Expiring enrollments (new)
  • Client birthdays (new)
  • Volunteer birthdays (new)
Select any count to open the full list, where a new date filter lets you switch between Today, Tomorrow, This week, Next 7 days, and Next 30 days. Alerts follow staff permissions, so each user only sees the alerts for the areas they can access.

📅 Multiple Service Date Schedules

Organizations using Service Date Management can now set up more than one weekly service date schedule.
  • Create and name schedules in Admin > Service Date Management , using the same drag-and-drop delivery day mapping
  • One schedule is the default and applies to every client automatically
  • Assign a client to a different schedule from the Service Date Schedule tab on their record, with a preview of that schedule's delivery day mapping
  • Individual service dates can still be reassigned manually from the Deliveries page
This is helpful when different groups of clients follow different delivery patterns.

🍽️ Multiple Menu Schedules

Organizations using a recurring meal schedule can now build more than one menu schedule and switch the meal calendar between them.
  • Create named schedules, each with its own number of weeks, in Admin > Menu Management Settings
  • Assign meals to each schedule from the Recurring Schedule tab under Menus
  • Copy a week of meals from one schedule into another
  • Switch the calendar to a different schedule starting on the week you choose
Your current rotation carries over as a schedule named Default , so nothing changes until you add a second one. See  Working with Menu Schedules  for details.

Other Enhancements

  • Route Sheets now support duplex (i.e. double-sided) printing.
  • The Kitchen Sheet now supports optional filtering by product / meal type or category.
  • Delivery items can be grouped by Diet Type on the Kitchen Sheet and Route Sheets.
  • Client surveys now support additional option for survey scoring and score reporting.
  • Staff users with the appropriate permissions can now impersonate volunteer portal accounts for easier volunteer onboarding and support.
  • Bug fixes and performance improvements.
