As an admin, you can configure organization-wide notification defaults for notifications


📊 Organization Notification Policies

Navigation: Administration > Notification Policies
The policies page displays a matrix of notification types (rows) and channels (columns), split into Staff and Volunteer sections. Click any cell to edit the policy for that notification/channel combination.

Policy Setting Values

Always on. Users cannot turn it off. Lock icon shown in their preferences.
Default On
On by default. Users can turn it off in their preferences.
Default Off
Off by default. Users can turn it on in their preferences.
Unavailable
Always off. Users cannot turn it on. Lock icon shown; channel hidden.
(blank)
Uses the built-in app default.
Required means users cannot opt out — use sparingly. Unavailable hides the channel entirely from users.
Use Default On for important-but-optional notifications. Reserve Required only for critical notifications that all users must receive.
Volunteer Management notification types only appear when the Volunteer Management feature is enabled for your organization.
